Where were you on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 25, 2016? Chances are, it wasn’t the Sycuan Casino in sunny El Cajon, just outside of San Diego, California. But if you were there, perhaps you witnessed the famous Buffalo Grand slot machine’s latest millionaire, who turned mere pennies into a vast fortune worth over $1.22 million.
Staff from the Sycuan Casino, owned and operated on the reservation of the Sycuan Band of Kumeyaay Indians, made the announcement on Thursday that one of its local patrons, Ms. Falina R. of Chula Vista, had struck the enormous progressive jackpot for a whopping $1,228,537.94.
While the excited new millionaire made herself available for a photo-op with the casino, she requested that her full name not be disclosed. Sycuan Casino has honored that request.
“Our guests have been on a hot streak lately,” said an enthusiastic John Dinius, who serves as the General Manager of the San Diego area casino.
“In March we had another $1.25 million winner,” he revealed, “and a few weeks later a $660,000 winner.”
Dinius continued, saying “the energy in the casino right now is incredible — and the amount of jackpots we’re handing out is extraordinary. We can’t wait to see who our next big winner is. It just takes one push of a button to change the entire course of a person’s day — or life!”
Buffalo Grand Slot
The Buffalo Grand is one of the most famous slot machines from today’s leading manufacturer, Aristocrat Leisure. The massive, award-winning slot machine comes in Aristocrat’s patented Arc Double cabinetry, featuring a concave-screen with eye-popping HD graphics. Available in casinos throughout the world, it was honored with CEM’s 2015 Top 10 Slot Floor Technology Award.
The Australia-based slots maker has been serving up life-altering jackpots one after another since the Buffalo Grand Slot was first introduced – aiding in its immense popularity. Back in February, the firm announced four consecutive winners in just two weeks time – two of them on the same day – with the Buffalo Grand paying out more than $2.64 million combined.
More About Sycuan Casino
Sycuan Casino is a favorite among local gamblers from the San Diego area. It dates back over three decades to its humble beginnings as Bingo Palace, opened in 1983. The property has expanded immensely since then, including a complete renovation in 2012 that saw the casino gaming floor grow to over 2,000 slot machines, 40+ table games, a live poker room, and – of course – an expansive bingo hall.
Non-smoking guests can enjoy a fully-enclosed gaming area, complete with over 800 slots, multiple table games and a private dining area, Paipa’s Surf & Turf Buffet. It’s hailed as the San Diego area’s very “first and largest fully-enclosed non-smoking [gaming] room“.
The Sycuan Casino also features the GameDay Sports Bar & Grill, where five 90″ TV’s help make up the total 39-screen sports viewing lounge. A vast ‘stadium-sized menu’ includes more than 30 beers on tap, with bar-top slot machines and a 3-table blackjack PartyPit.
